Changes to Novita Bingo

The safety and wellbeing of all our Bingo patrons and staff is our primary focus and we understand that the coronavirus, or COVID-19 as it has been named by the World Health Organisation, is causing concern for many people.

As a result of the announcement made by the Prime Minister on 22 March all Novita Bingo sessions have been suspended until further notice.

As new information and/or changes come to light relating to COVID-19, which may affect Novita Bingo patrons, we will provide all necessary updates to the community in order to keep Novita Bingo patrons informed. Stay tuned to Novita Bingo Facebook page and website for the latest update.

What is Novita doing to prevent the spread of the virus?

The safety and welfare of our clients, families, Bingo patrons and staff are our primary focus, so we are closely watching local, national and international developments regarding COVID-19.

A COVID-19 working group consisting of senior Novita staff is meeting regularly to monitor and respond to developments, and we are following the recommendations of the Australian Government and the Department of Health to take all the steps necessary to protect the Novita community.

We have advised all our clients that they should contact us before accessing any of our services locations if they, or a family member or carer, are feeling unwell, and that they should seek an immediate medical assessment.

We have implemented a range of infection control measures such as providing alcohol-based hand rub and have distributed information about correct handwashing techniques. We have also increased cleaning at our hubs.

Basic protective measures against COVID-19 from the World Health Organisation

The best way to protect yourself against COVID-19 is to regularly wash your hands with soap and water, or use an alcohol-based hand sanitiser.

You should also cover your coughs and sneezes with your elbow or a tissue, and if you use a tissue dispose of it immediately.

Regularly cleaning surfaces can also help to prevent the spread of the virus.

Maintain a social distance of at least 1.5 metres between yourself and anyone else.

Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth as hands used to touch many surfaces can pick up viruses and once contaminated can transfer into your and make you sick.

Avoiding handshakes and unnecessary contact can also help to protect you.

1. Eligibility for Membership

1.1. Entry into the “Novita Bingo Supporters Club” means that the individual warrants that he or she meets the entry requirements and accepts these terms and conditions.

1.2. Membership of the Novita Bingo Supporters Club is free to Australian residents aged 18 years or over.

1.3. Registration requires notification to Novita Bingo of the person’s name and contact details, including address, phone number, date of birth, gender, lucky number and email.

1.4 Novita Bingo reserves the right to refuse any application for Membership or terminate Membership at any time for any reason at its sole discretion. Any points accumulated will become irredeemable.

2. Membership, Cards and Participation in General

2.1. Membership of the program provides a) Members with the opportunity to accumulate points and participate in exclusive promotional events and activities from time to time offered by Novita Bingo b) Members have the opportunity to redeem Points for Rewards.

2.2. The number of Points earned by Members will determine their eligibility for rewards during the program.

2.3. Membership is personal to each Member and is not transferable.

2.4. Each Card is the property of Novita Bingo and must be returned to Novita Bingo on demand, including on termination or cancellation of Membership. Novita Bingo will determine the manner of delivery of a Card to a Member in its sole discretion. Novita Bingo will not be responsible for any loss suffered by a Member due to misuse or non-delivery of a Card. If a Card is lost or stolen, Novita Bingo must be notified without unreasonable delay and Novita Bingo may impose a charge for any replacement Card provided. Novita Bingo is not responsible and will accept no liability for misuse of lost or stolen Cards.

2.5. First use of a Card by a Member and/or his/her signing of a Card means that the Member has read and understood these terms and conditions and accepts them and confirms his/her eligibility for Membership, as amended from time to time. Each Member further agrees to immediately advise Novita Bingo of any change of address and other details provided by that Member on their application for Membership of the Program.

2.6. Novita Bingo reserves the right to terminate the Program at any time. Upon such termination Members will have three months from the date of notice of termination within which to accrue Points and for Members to redeem Points. At the end of the relevant period, all Points not redeemed will expire and be forfeited.

2.7. Novita Bingo reserves the right to wipe/reset points at any time. Upon such wipe/reset Members will have three months from the date of notice of wipe/reset within which to accrue Points and for Members to redeem Points. At the end of the relevant period, all Points not redeemed will expire and be forfeited.

2.8. Novita Bingo may at any time establish, change or remove different categories of Membership to which different rules apply, including (but not limited to) Point accrual rates, means of accruing Points and, for Members, Rewards offered. Novita Bingo will use its best endeavours to provide Members with a minimum of 30 days’ notice of such changes.

2.9. Death of a Member will result in immediate cancellation of Membership and forfeiture of all Points of that Member.

2.10. These terms and conditions may be amended at any time by Novita Bingo. Novita Bingo will use its best endeavours to provide Members with a minimum of 30 days’ notice of such changes.

2.11. Personal information provided by Members is collected and used by Novita Bingo to process Member applications and administer the Program. Novita Bingo uses personal information provided by Members to assess eligibility for membership and promotions, conduct market research, market products, services and promotions, issue transaction statements, award Points and provide other benefits of the Program. Members may select or change their direct marketing preferences by contacting Novita Bingo.

2.12. Members consent to Novita Bingo collecting their personal information for the purpose of conducting and promoting this Membership. Novita Bingo is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and by entering the Membership, entrants are taken to consent to Novita’s privacy policy which contains information, amongst other things, about how to access personal information that is held by Novita about individuals and seek correction of such information. 2.13. Novita Bingo is not responsible, and will not accept any liability, for any Card or system failure or for a Member not swiping or not correctly swiping his/her Card and neither Novita Bingo or any Participant is under any obligation to provide the relevant Member with Points or any other thing under any of these circumstances.

2.14. Novita Bingo will not retrospectively adjust point balance if a member has misplaced, lost or not have their card present on any particular night.

3. Points

3.1. Points are not transferable and may only be redeemed by a Member who has earned them or otherwise been awarded them by Novita Bingo.

3.2. Points are valid indefinitely. Novita Bingo from time to time can enact 2.7 to wipe/reset points.

4. Rewards

4.1. Points can only be redeemed for Rewards provided by Novita Bingo. Rewards may only be obtained by a Member swiping his/her Card and choosing a reward. Proof of identification may be required at the time of redemption.

4.2. Rewards are not transferable, refundable or exchangeable for cash, provided that Novita Bingo may from time to time offer a cash redemption option as a Reward in its sole discretion.

4.3. Novita Bingo is not responsible for lost or stolen Rewards or Reward vouchers or tickets after they have been issued or sent to the Member.

4.4. Novita Bingo makes no warranties or representations either express or implied with respect to the quality, standard, fitness or suitability for any purpose of any goods or services (including Rewards) offered as part of the Program and, to the extent permitted by law, disclaims any and all liability for any loss, damage or claim that arises in connection with any of those goods and services. In the event that liability cannot be excluded by law, liability for a breach of a condition or warranty in relation to goods or services provided in the course of the

Program is limited to:

In the case of goods, to either one or more of the following:

1. the replacement of the goods or the supply of equivalent goods;

2. the repair of the goods;

3. the payment of the cost of replacing the goods or of acquiring equivalent goods; or

4. the payment of the cost of having the goods repaired; and

In the case of services, to:

1. the supplying of the services again; or

2. the payment of the cost of having the services supplied again.

5. Problem Gambling Exclusion

5.1. To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither Novita Bingo nor employees shall in any circumstances assume any obligation or incur any liability whatsoever to a Member or to any other person (whether in contract, tort, equity, under statute, or otherwise) in relation to or for any loss, damage or other harm of any kind, whether direct, indirect or consequential, or whether personal, social, physical, economic (including gambling losses) or otherwise caused or exacerbated by, or arising from or in connection with, any problem gambling by a Member at Novita Bingo.
